It’s worth being clear about what a directory listing is and isn’t. A listing describes what a tool does, who it’s for, and what it costs — it is not an endorsement.
Upvote counts measure attention and community interest, not verified quality. A tool can be heavily upvoted because it’s genuinely excellent, or because it launched with an active community behind it on day one.
When we do publish opinionated writeups, they’ll be clearly labeled as reviews or comparisons, separate from the neutral listing itself. Keeping these separate is what makes the directory useful as a starting point for your own evaluation rather than a substitute for it.
